Proposals that change the privileges of your license have been recommended to the Department of Public Health (DPH). 
The DPH oversees your licensure.

• Two requests are Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) and
• Interim Therapeutic Restoration (ITR) for dental hygienists.  This is currently crafted to allow dental assistants to do more hygiene services; this may result in the loss of dental hygiene positions/jobs.  Also, this could potentially reduce your patient pool, thereby affecting your livelihood. 

CDHA is not opposed to EFDA or ITR; however, we want both to be calibrated through didactic and clinical education. 

• The third request is for Advanced Dental Hygiene Practitioner (ADHP).  The scope requests link is on the CDHA website.
